I grew up in the Great Lakes state of Michigan and came learn about midwifery while finishing my undergraduate work in women and gender studies. I began volunteering as a doula to low income, single and teen parents, and my dream of becoming a midwife was born from witnessing the strength and perseverance through pregnancy and birth. My personal philosophy on birth is that by supporting wellness, upholding informed decision making, and minimizing interventions or manipulations of the process and we can promote the safest and most satisfying outcomes for a new family.
I am a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North American Registry of Midwives, Licensed Midwife (LM) in the state of California and an IBCLC board certified lactation consultant. I hold current neonatal resuscitation certification, CPR, and LD&D certifications. Amongst the many joys I have experienced along this journey in midwifery, I have had the privilege caring for many families and welcoming their sweet babies into this world!
Pregnancy, birth and postpartum is a joyful and challenging process that takes individuals and couples into a deeper understanding of their capabilities. Everyday I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to be a part of this process with my clients. I am inspired by the strength, determination, patience and profound love in each family.
Arbor midwifery carries the namesake of my sweet hometown of Ann Arbor, MI where I got my start in midwifery. In my free time, I enjoy running, playing ultimate frisbee, practicing yoga, cooking, hiking, and spending time relaxing around a campfire with friends.
I look forward to sharing this time together and providing your family with the very best care.
